An African-American man in Selma was fatally shot on Monday afternoon.

According to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford, Anthony Hayes, 21, was shot Monday around noon on First Avenue near Kayser Street.

Fulford said there are no known suspects or a motive at this time and the incident remains under investigation by the Selma Police Department.

This is the fourth murder in 2022 for the Queen City.
