Mrs. Jeanette Schofield Pridgen a resident of Prattville, formerly of Selma, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Wilbur E. Pridgen, parents Crawford D. and Ina Mae Schofield, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie Mae and Woodrow N. Pridgen as well as her four brothers Clyde D., Randall T., Jimmy S. and Paul V. Schofield, sisters Bonnie S. Shelton and June S. Pugh. Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Sauceman, son, Jon W. Pridgen, grandson Matthew Parker Johnson (fiancée Lauren DeVenecia) the sunshine of her life and granddaughter Savannah Noelle Sauceman whom she loved to the moon and back in addition to many dear and loved friends.
She was born in McKenzie, December 18, 1944, to Ina Mae and Crawford Schofield. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 11 a.m .with visitation starting at 10 a.m., at Glynwood Baptist Church in Prattville. Jeanette overcame an impoverished childhood and along with her husband designed and custom built 6 homes in Prattville and Selma. She was talented in so many ways and worked many different jobs including being a dietary manager, greeting card merchandiser, school bus driver, life insurance agent among other jobs she took on to support her family. She was an award-winning cook, skilled crafter, square dancer, and enjoyed a good game of dominoes, Rook and Bridge however her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife, mother and Ba to her adoring family. Although our hearts are broken, we take solace knowing that she is reunited with our Savior and our father.
