Carolyn B. Atchison, beloved wife, mother, friend and educator began her heavenly eternal life on March 30th at her home in Clanton. She was 68 years old. Carolyn died surrounded by her loving family. Her love for Christ defined her earthly walk. She wanted everyone to know Jesus and His love. Carolyn graduated from University Of Montevallo and earned her masters from Troy University. She taught elementary education and piano. Carolyn had a tremendous appreciation for music, singing in church choirs, quartets and duets over the years. As many of you know, Carolyn always had a song for everything, a love for fine china, vintage hats, decorating any and everything. She was always the hostess with the mostest.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her son Kyle Jordan Atchison, parents James Winfred and Maude Ellen Brown and brother James Winfred Brown Jr.
In addition to her husband, Ralph Lee Atchison, Carolyn’s legacy is left with her daughter, Erin Suzanne Lufkin and daughter-in-love, Lisa Marie Atchison, brother Durwood J. Brown (Karen), and four grandchildren, Noelle Jordan Atchison, Ryan Ernest Atchison, Gabriel Kyle Lufkin and Harper Claire Lufkin.
The funeral service will be at West End Baptist Church in Clanton, on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2p.m. Martin Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to West End Baptist Church building fund.
