Basketball royalty: Five Dallas County players make ASWA All-State team

For the second straight year, Dallas County has a strong showing on the Alabama Sportswriters Association All-State basketball team.
A combined five players from private or public schools in the area made the ASWA All-State team.
Southwest Regional champion and Class 3A state semifinalist Southside had two selections: Guards Chris Thomas and Tae Spears. Thomas, a second-team 3A selection, averaged 21.5 points, seven rebounds and five assists a game. Spears, an honorable mention, averaged 20 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Spears made all-state last year.
Keith High guard Tommy Tisdale III made second-team in Class 1A, a jump from being named honorable mention from last year. Tisdale averaged 22 points and five rebounds. His scoring average increased by five points.
Morgan Academy guard Bailey Brown was third team among AISA girls. Brown averaged 16 points and four rebounds, earning her second straight All-State honor.
Selma High guard Alexias Walker was an honorable mention pick in 5A girls. Walker averaged 21 points and seven assists.
