Gracie Geraldine (Geri) Swords DeLucas of Selma, passed away at home on March 13, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Gracie Sword and mother-in-law, Sally DeLucas.
She is survived by a loving and caring husband Paul P. DeLucas, Jr. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Kimberly DeLucas Downes and husband Greg. Susan DeLucas Rogers and husband Jason. She had three grandchildren that she loved and adored: Lauren Downes, Corey Downes and Haley Rogers.
She loved her brothers and sisters: Vernon “Sonny” and Cindy (deceased) Swords, Wally and Veronica Swords, Sandra and Gene Suber and Debbie and John Joyner. In-laws: Mike and Trish DeLucas and Bob and Pam DeLucas. She had multiple nieces and nephews that she cherished. Also, her long time best friend Lillian Ward.
Geri was born and raised in Moultrie, Georgia. She moved to Selma in 1976 with her husband and daughters. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Selma where she loved her Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from noon until 2 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, Georgia on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society.
