Selma kid wins Dixie Youth World Series Batting championship

A Dallas County All-Star won the 11-12-year-old Dixie Youth World Series Baseball Championship.
Alex Johnson hit .667 to capture the Dixie Youth Baseball batting title. Johnson also shined as a pitcher, throwing a no-hitter.
Johnson played a key role in the Dallas County All-Stars winning its first-ever state championship and earning a spot in the World Series.
The All-Star squad won three of five games, finishing in the Top five.
The Dallas County squad beat Laurel-Jones County 12-0 and Mississippi 15-3 and knocked off Tennessee 7-4. South Carolina beat the All-Stars 10-2 and Tennessee avenged its loss with a 8-7 victory.
Omari Smith, Qmarion Pernell, Venetris Eaton, Rhett Thomas, Alexander Johnson, Jack Cobb, Travis Jones, Thomas Clay Atchison, Taylon Sigler, Clifton Smith, Ryall King and Wallis Gilmore were the other players.
Lyn Britt is the manager, Tommy Atchison and Kay Jones were the coaches.
