Mr. Edward Earle Ashe, a resident of Dothan, , passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He was 73 years old.
Mr. Ashe was born on June 23, 1948 in Perry County to the late Henry Marvin Ashe and Ruby Mae Jackson Ashe. He graduated from Suttle High School and went right to work with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 35 years until his retirement but always had a business venture that kept him busy. He had many friends and business associates in Selma and Dothan, Alabama.
Mr. Earle Ashe owned and operated A-1 Sales in Selma, Alabama for the past ten years. He was always willing to make a deal.
In 2020, Mr. Ashe moved to Dothan, to be closer to his daughter and granddaughter. He continued his weekly commute to Selma to oversee his businesses. Earle was an avid animal lover and was a large contributor to many animal shelters in the area. His pets, Dolly, CiCi, Silky and Foxy will miss him terribly.
Mr. Ashe was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved sister, Nancy Colburn. He is survived by his loving daughter, Brigette Ashe Johnson (Chad), granddaughter, Katelyn Danielle Allman, grandson, Noah Johnson, and niece, Lynn Colburn., along with his special friend, Mary Smith-Johnson and many loving friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Guy Anderson officiating. The service will be livestreamed online at http://WatchLawrence.live , via the funeral home’s Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
