Photographic Nights of Selma returns for second straight year

The Photographic Nights of Selma returns for a second year.
The event starts Thursday and ends Saturday.
Registration begins Thursday afternoon at the Coffee Shoppe from noon until 5 p.m.
Events begin Friday at the ArtsRevive.
Here is Friday’s schedule:
-Chip Cooper will make a presentation at 2 p.m..
-An introduction from Charlie Lucas at 2 p.m.
-Presentations by Liesa Cole will be done at 3 p.m..
-Presentation by Frank Jackson, the guest of honor, 4 p.m.
-Photographic nights of Selma Screening will be held at 7 p.m., followed with a Post Screen Reception at 8:30 p.m.
Here are Saturday’s events:
-Jo Ann Bland, one of the original Foot Soldiers during Bloody Sunday in 1965, will lead a Walking Tour at 10 a.m., which starts at ArtsRevive.
-Clyde’s Food Truck will at ArtsRevive from noon until 2 p.m.
-A round table discussion with photographers at 2 p.m.
-Jo Ann Bland will present Journeys for the Soul Presentation at 4 p.m.
-Introduction and Q&A with Sydney Foster, last year’s People’s Choice Award Winner at 5 p.m.
-Photographic Nights of Selma Screening at 7 p.m.
-A post screening reception will be held at 8:30 p.m.
Warren Simons, Kourtney Iman , Chip Cooper, Joseph De Sciose and E. Bruce Phillips will be among the high-profile artists scheduled to appear at the Photographic Nights of Selma.
The Black Belt Community Foundation, The Coffee Shoppe, By the River Center for Humanity, Journeys for the Soul by JoAnne Bland and Arts Revive are the event’s sponsors.
Rex Jones of Cougar Oil and ArtsRevive Board President, said Photographic Nights of Selma was successful last year.
“Photographic Nights of Selma was one of ArtsRevive’s top events last year,” Jones said. “To be able to bring some of the top photographers in the world to Selma is special. The shows on Friday and Saturday will be amazing.”
