Demopolis jumped out to an early lead and routed Selma High to win the Region 5, 5A championship on Friday night.

Despite the loss, Selma High (5-5, 4-2) qualified for the 5A state playoffs as the third seed.

Shelby County’s win over Jemison, coupled with a head to head victory over Selma earned them the second seed and homefield game.

Dakaari Nelson scored the only touchdown for the Saints.

Montevallo 49, Dallas County 14: The Hornets (3-6, 2-5) were officially eliminated from the Class 4A state playoffs.

Markeice Stallworth and Marquavious Pullom both scored touchdowns for the Hornets.

Pickens Academy 38, Meadowview Christian School 6: The Trojans fall to 0-8, losing on Thursday night. Rin Hagood scored the Trojans’ only touchdown.
