Suspects shoot into home of Dallas County Superintendent

Central Alabama Crimestoppers and the Dallas County Sheriff Office are investigating a shooting in Valley Grande, the home of Dallas County Schools Superintendent Hattie Shelton.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, a shooting incident happened between 8:45 p.m. and 8:55 p.m. Tuesday at the 80 block of Quail Ridge Drive. Jackson said two suspects fired a gun into an occupied dwelling. Investigators released surveillance video footage of the suspect’s car in the moments before the shooting.

Jackson also said Shelton’s home was shot into eight times. They were inside the home, but not injured.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that could lead to arrests.
