Janie Lee Reese, resident of Palmetto, Florida and loving mother was born on November 10, 1941, in Selma, Alabama to Frank Reese, Sr. and Sallie Reese. She departed this life on July 9, 2021 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Lily Grove Baptist Church in Selma.
She leaves to cherish her memories six children: Arthur (Lenora) Hunter, Bradenton, , Gail (John) Jones, Sarasota, Florida, Barbara (Barbie) Hunter, Palmetto, Florida, Charles (Suzanne) Phillips. Jr., Selma, Levelle (Shanta) Phillips, Bradenton, and Tony Phillips, Bradenton, ; 25 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition, she also leaves these loved ones to cherish and celebrate her life, Three sisters: Alice Dudley, Lina Mae Reese, and Louise Howard all of Selma, and one uncle, Eugene (Alice) Thomas of Selma. Her Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11 a.m., Lily Grove Baptist Church, 57 County Road 257, Selma AL 36703. Randall Miller’s Funeral Service, Inc. Directing.
