The Dallas County Sheriff Office recently donated two of its older vehicles to the Uniontown Police Department.
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum and members of the Dallas County Commission made the presentation to Uniontown Mayor Christopher Jones and Uniontown Police Chief Robert Cole last week at the Dallas County Courthouse. Commissioners Curtis Williams, Vivian Rogers and Jan Justice attended the event.
Granthum credited the Dallas County Commission for always providing what the DCSO needs to successfully battle crime in the area. Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn and Commissioner Connell Towns weren’t present.
“I’m fortunate to have a supportive Dallas County Commission,” Granthum said. “We just got six new SUVs. We felt the need to help out our fellow law enforcement.”
Jones and Cole said they’re both grateful for the donation given by the DSCO.
“We’re in dire need of vehicles,” Jones said. “I thank the Dallas County Sheriff Office for giving us the vehicles.”
“We appreciate what the DCSO has done for the Uniontown Police Department,” Cole said.
Granthum said the future goal is to work a partnership with the Uniontown Police Department.
