Valley Grande holds inauguration ceremony for new Mayor, City Council

Valley Grande’s new City Council was sworn in Monday at Valley Grande City Hall.
Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn swore in Mayor Wayne Labbe, council members Kay Davidson (Place 1), Sara Day (Place 2), Jane Harris (Place 3), Bruce Hughes (Place 4) and Robbie Rose (Place 5).
The newly elected officials were surrounded by their families and friends during the ceremony.
“Not only is this a great day for Valley Grande, it’s also a great day for Dallas County,” Nunn said.
The council had an organizational meeting with the goal of appointing other city officials. The council approved Davidson as Mayor pro tem. Janet Frasier was reinstated as City Clerk. Boyd Pugh was also reinstated as Public Safety Director.
Labbe said Frasier and Pugh are both valuable assets to the city.
