Valley Grande has one more spot to fill on its city council, after Tuesday’s runoff failed to decisively declare a winner.
Candidate Bruce Hughes leads incumbent Tammy Troha, 127-118, for the Place 4 Valley Grande City Council position, which Troha ran unopposed for and was elected to in 2016.
The winner will be determined at noon Tuesday, October 13, when the 61 provisional ballots are counted at Valley Grande City Hall.
Troha and Hughes both showed class and congratulated one another after Tuesday night’s contest.
Troha outgained Hughes 294-284 in the municipal election to force a runoff.
“No matter who wins between me and Bruce, it’s a win-win for Valley Grande,” Troha said. “There are good people in Valley Grande.”
Hughes agreed with Troha, saying that the city will get a good council member.
