Ward 1 candidate Gabriel Brown holds Drive-by Giveaway
City Councilwoman candidate Gabriel Brown held her first annual Ward 1 Drive-by Giveaway on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
Residents were given bags containing hand sanitizer, mask and assorted school supplies. Bag lunches with hot dogs, potato chips were also given out. Brown’s family and her campaign supporters assisted her.
“I want to help flatten the curve of coronavirus in Dallas County,” Brown said. “I like being able to help the community.”
Brown said she’s pleased with her campaign despite entering the race only a month ago to fill the seat vacated by Councilman Carl Bowline.
“We’ve only been in the race for four weeks, but I feel we’re in a good spot,” Brown said. “It’s a strong possibility we’ll have a runoff, but we did our part. I’ve been a dedicated citizen of Selma my entire life.”
