Local pastors of diffrent denominations across Selma are collaborating for a discussion on race, the church and the gospel tonight at 6:30 p.m.
The discussion, dubbed “One Body” will be livestreamed by Elkdale Baptist Church at elkdale.org and on Elkdale’s Facebook page.
Elkdale’s Rev. Cory Horton will be joined by Rev. Steve Burton of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Rev. John Grayson of Gospel Tabernacle Church, Bishop B.A. Scott of Word Ministry and Rev. Jonathan Shanks of New Macedonia Baptist Church.
This evening will mark the second occasion local church readers have gathered to discuss race since George Floyd was killed at the hands on Minneapolis police officers on May 25.
Earlier this month on Sunday, June 7, local pastors organized a pastors and police prayer vigil at Bloch Park, which was well attended by the Selma community seeing a crowd of well over 100 people.
