Selma man found dead on King Street

A Selma man was found dead Tuesday morning on the 400 block of King Street.
Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford confirmed the victim was Christopher Murphy, 47, of Selma.
Fulford said Murphy was found dead on the 400 block of King Street.
“Officers responded to the 400 block of King Street in reference to a gunshot victim,” Fulford said. “Upon arrival, officers discovered a male subject in his 40’s with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. We have no suspects at this time.”
This is the sixth homicide in the Queen City this year.
The SPD is also investigating a shooting that took place Monday.
Fulford said the SPD responded to a shooting at the 700 block of Johnson Street on Monday. A man and woman were both struck and transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson identified the shooting victims as Mary Dunning, 58 and Eugene Reeves, 57.
