The Selma Police Department arrested a man Wednesday night on four assault charges.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, James Edward McDole was charged with three counts of first degree assault, second degree assault, third degree robbery and discharging gun into occupied vehicle.

Jackson said that Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong set McDole’s bond at $1 million at an arraignment Thursday in the Dallas County Courthouse.  McDole, 21, is currently in the Dallas County Jail.

Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford said that the SPD responded to a call from Banks Trailer Park around 6:46 p.m. Wednesday in reference to gun shots being fired into an occupied vehicle.

Fulford said as the SPD were headed to the Trailer Park, officers made contact with a SUV that had two gunshot victims, both African American females, and a juvenile was also struck. Fulford said the two women were taken to get treated. Fulford did not reveal the victims’ identities.

“The gunslingers are out and about, the next stop is jail,” Jackson said.
