Edna Earle Gibson Harvill went home to the loving arms of Jesus on His Resurrection Sunday, April 12, 2020.

She was 96. She was born in Crandall, Mississippi, June 11, 1923, and grew up in Selma,, where she graduated from A. G. Parrish School in 1942.  While in high school she worked for Steve Ball at Rothschild’s as a sales clerk but most notably as a clothing model.  Till her passing her natural beauty and radiant smile drew most people to her.  After moving to Birmingham in late 60’s she attended UAB Dental Hygienist School and graduate at top of her class.   In her later career years she worked with Dr. William McDonald, a pediatric dentist, working with children and primarily those that had special needs.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Malcolm Gibson, Sr. and Alice Bell Etheridge Gibson, brothers Willie Gray White and Thomas Malcolm Gibson, Jr., husband Wiley Lavon Harvill.  She is survived by son Larry Van Harvill (Pam); Grandsons Troy Christopher Van Harvill (Patrice) and Barry Ryan Van Harvill (Rhonda) great grandchildren Greyson Christopher Harvill, Peyton Darling Harvill, Maggie Rose Harvill, Brandon Marlowe Fort and Jacqueline Eliza Fort.

Memorials in lieu of flowers should be sent to Elkdale Baptist Church, Selma; Taylor Road Baptist Church, Montgomery and/or WLBF, Montgomery. A private graveside service will be held at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.
