The body of a missing Marengo County man was found Friday in a pond.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Willie Allen Jr., 36, was found dead in a Marengo County pond.

Jackson said the Uniontown Police Department has ruled Allen’s death an accidental drowning. Jackson also said water was near Allen’s car. The vehicle was found abandoned on Highway 80 between Uniontown and Demopolis, with keys in the ignition and a cell phone inside.

“At least it helps bring some closure to the family,” Jackson said.

Allen had been missing for a week. Allen was last seen at Southeastern Cheese plant in Uniontown.
