Links to host Teen Reenactment Friday

This Friday at the Selma High School Auditorium, the Selma Chapter of The Links, Inc. will host their annual Teen Reenactment at 9 a.m. with the doors opening at 8:30 a.m.
Each year, The Links host the forum to educate all Selma and Dallas County high school seniors about democracy and why voting should become a lifelong commitment
The program will feature student portrayals of historical figures that helped shape America into a democracy including Abraham Lincoln, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr. Jimmy Lee Jackson, Coretta Scott King, Amelia Boynton, Marie Foster and Several others.
The schools in attendance on Thursday will be Selma High School, Morgan Academy, Meadowview Cristian Academy, Ellwood Christian Academy, Dallas County High School, Keith High School and Southside High School.
Links, Inc. member Juanda Maxwell, who serves as Chairman for the event, said the general public is invited to attend the event as well.
Since this year’s event takes place during an election Dorothy C. Barnes, Links Chapter President, also said that all registered voters should do their homework in choosing the candidate they believe in.
“Do your research and vote for who you think is the best candidate,” she said.
