Ladies in Faith Together (LIFT) Ministries held a giveaway for the homeless at the Bosco Nutrition Center on Thursday.

LIFT Ministries founder Latangelia Williams handed out bags to homeless. The bags included toothpaste, toothbrush, socks and deodorant.

Williams, the daughter of Dallas County Commissioner Curtis Williams, said she received donations from the Selma/Dallas County community. Williams also said she handed out 65 bags on Thursday.

“I wanted to give back for the holidays,” Williams said. “I want to be more Christ-like and be a humble servant.”

Williams’ co-worker at Selma AIR, Lydia Chatmon, also assisted her with the homeless giveaway.

“Having this event means everything to me,” Williams said. “I want people to see Jesus through me.”

Williams launched LIFT ministries last month. She ministers to the inmates at the Dallas County Jail every Wednesday and regularly speaks at churches throughout Dallas County.
