The Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF) is kicking off its annual “Throw and Go Contest,” a fundraiser established by the BBCF’s Community Associates to support the Black Belt Leadership Development Program, the Young Men and Boys of Color Initiative, the Black Belt Believe and Achieve Education Initiative and the Community Grants Program.

Now in its fourth year, the fundraiser offers a highly-coveted prize – a pair of tickets to this year’s Iron Bowl, to be played at Jordan Hare Stadium in Auburn Nov. 30, which were handed over to the organization by a donor specifically for the annual fundraiser.

“The winning combination of Alabamians’ passion for football with their deeply-seated values of giving and helping their neighbor is what makes ‘Throw [and] Go’ such a successful campaign each year,” said BBCF President Felecia Lucky in a press release. “This is a fun, team-spirited way for many people to come together to help their own communities.”

People looking to participate for their chance at walking away with two tickets to this year’s Auburn-Alabama game need only to give a $5 donation for a ticket, which creates and entry into the prize drawing.

All of the tickets will be placed in a container and a BBCF Board of Directors member will randomly select one ticket on Nov. 18. – the name on the ticket pulled will be the person to participate in the BBCF’s “Throw and Go Contest,” where they will have three chances to make a 12-yard pass to a BBCF staff member.

The 12 yards are symbolic of the 12 counties BBCF serves.

According to the press release, both the drawing and the contest will be videoed to ensure transparency and “the integrity of the contest.”
