Admission includes a catered meal from Golden Ranch BBQ & Grill, live entertainment and access to an open bar.

According to Wannabe Rescued Member Jenny Tolbert, there are only 35 tickets remaining for the event.

“We sold a lot of tickets already, but of course we’d love to sell out,” she said.

According to Tolbert, the Bow Wow Auction is Wannabe Rescued’s Biggest fundraiser all year and a crucial for helping the volunteers in their mission of providing the homeless dogs and puppies of the Selma – Dallas County area with homes.

Tolbert said that the event is not only a way to help the animals, but also a good way to showcase local businesses and the products and services they offer.

All of the items up for bid at the auction have been donated by local business, and as a result the attendees of the auction will be surrounded by local businesses.

“They’re helping us and we’re helping them,” said Tolbert. “A lot of people think that they have to go to Montgomery or Prattville to do their shopping. Be we have lots of great businesses right here in Selma.”

Tolbert said that the live auction will consist of 15 items and the silent auction will have around 100 items.

Tolbert said there will be a wide variety of items up for bid including a kayak, tools furniture and works by local woodworkers, metal workers and artists.

“It’s not just dog stuff,” said Tolbert. “There’s something for everybody.”
