Auburn Athletic Director Allen Greene will be the guest speaker at the Selma Quarterback Club on Monday night at the Selma Convention Center. The event starts at 6 p.m.

Greene, 42, is in his second year as Auburn’s AD. Greene was officially hired by Auburn on Jan. 18, 2018.  He was previously AD at Buffalo University. Greene played baseball at Notre Dame from 1996-1998 and spent four years in the New York Yankees’ farm system.

The Auburn Athletic program is coming off a historic season in football, basketball and baseball under Greene’s leadership.

The Tigers’ basketball program earned their first-ever trip to the Final Four, the baseball squad reached the College World Series and the football team won a Bowl game.  It was only the fourth time in NCAA Division I history a program sent a team to the Final Four, CWS and won a bowl game during the same academic year.

Auburn athletes have excelled in the classroom under Greene.  Under Greene, 177 Auburn student-athletes have earned degrees and 331 were named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. The list includes former Morgan Academy softball standout Kendall Veach, who was a four-time Academic All-SEC performer during her Lady Tiger career from 2016-2019.

“We are very excited,” Selma QB Club Captain Bob Frazer said. “Most people have not met Greene in this area. There are many things to like about his track record. Collegiate sports are a tremendous business in the SEC.  No doubt, it will be very exciting to get a glimpse into his responsibilities, goals and expectations for Auburn University. We should have a great turnout.”
