After being closed for the last two years, The Steak Pit at 1208 Highland Ave. is once again open to the people of Selma.
The restaurant, which opened earlier this week, features the same menu it did years before, including steaks, catfish, chicken tenders and the salad bar that the restaurant is best known for.
“Our salad bar is absolutely amazing,” said Manager Jameria DeJarnett. “We have everything you could possibly imagine to go on your salad.”
According to DeJarnett, response form the community has been quite positive since the restaurant reopened its doors.
“People are really excited,” she said. “People are coming in saying how happy they are to see us open again. People have really missed us.”
Many have taken to singing the restaurant’s praises on Facebook.
“The food was absolutely divine,’ commented Alexis Spencer in the Selma Shine and Shout Facebook Group. “Best they have ever been.”
DeJarnett encourages everyone to come out and give the restaurant a try.
“The food is great, the people are great and you’ll have a great time,” she said.
The Steak Pit is open Tuesday through Sunday from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., with the hot bar available from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the salad bar open all day.
