A security guard fatally shot a woman outside a Selma club Sunday morning, according to witnesses on the scene.

At the Small Street Inn pub on Anderson Avenue around 1:09 a.m., witnesses told the Selma Police Department a 39-year-old black female had been shooting at a 23-year black female in front of the club. Witnesses also told the SPD she shot another woman first before the security guard got involved. The women’s names and the security guard’s name were not released by SPD.

According to SPD Interim Chief Robert Green, the security guard witnessed the shooting and fired at the woman with the gun, striking the suspect in the hip and lower torso. She was taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
