Junebugg’s Flea and Antique Mall celebrated its 10th year doing business in Selma on Friday with a celebration featuring food, prizes and great deals on merchandise.

Tommy Carter, who runs Junebugg’s alongside his wife June, said that despite the heat, the celebration still drew a sizeable crowd.

“The heat has been our biggest enemy, but things are going well,” said Tommy Carter. “We’ve moved some merchandise and seen some new faces today.”

Outside Junebugg’s, celebration attendees helped themselves to free hotdogs and Pepsi products, those not in the mood for the free treat had the opportunity to cool off with Kona Ice or purchase a meal from the Tally-Ho Food Truck.

While there was plenty to do outside, most of the attendees made their way inside to check out the great deal.

Deals could be found on all kinds of items throughout the store including furniture, apparel, books, electronics and more.

Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce Director Sheryl Smedley came out on Friday to show her support for the local business and had a few words to say about Junebugg’s.

“Congratulations to Tommy and June Carter, as you celebrate 10 years of business in our community,” said Smedley. “Your investment continues to grow our local economy in a unique market attracting shoppers locally and nationally. Thank you for your contributions you make throughout our community.”
