Dallas County Coroner Alan Dailey confirmed two fatalities in separate automobile accidents on Friday.
A man was struck by a vehicle in the 1500 block of Highland Avenue around 8:15 p.m., according to Dailey.
Dailey identified the man as 39-year-old Henry Fuller and added that Fuller was struck by a vehicle while he was trying to cross the road to a store on the other side.
“It was not a hit and run,” said Dailey. “The driver said he didn’t see the man crossing the road.”
Dailey said some rumors claimed Fuller was struck by two vehicles, but Dailey said he was only hit by one.
“He was transported to Vaughan where he was unable to be resuscitated,” said Dailey.
The Selma Police Department (SPD) is still investigating the accident.
Also on Friday, law enforcement responded to an overturned truck on Highway 22 near the 41.5-mile marker near the Dallas County High School.
“A gentleman was transporting cement in a mixer to a location in Maplesville,” said Dailey. “The truck malfunctioned and went off the roadway, overturned and killed the driver.”
Dailey identified the driver as 49-year-old Robert Crum Jr.
“It happened around 9:45 a.m.,” said Dailey adding that ALEA is still investigating the accident.
