MJ 93-90 Foundation’s annual Family Fun Day and Back to School Bash will take place this Saturday for the first time at the Selma YMCA.

According to MJ 93-90 Secretary and Treasurer Thomasine Johnson, the event was moved to the YMCA from the Wallace Community College- Selma campus to provide a closer-knit community environment.

Johnson says this year’s event will be its biggest ever with a wide variety of activities for the entire family.

Johnson said the event will feature face painting, water slides, inflatables, dance classes, activities for teenagers and bingo for adults.

“We’ve really leveled up the activities this year,” said Johnson. “There’s something for every member of the family.”

According to Johnson, the MJ 93-90 Foundation has partnered with Dominos and the Selma Rotary Club to give away free school supplies in addition to all of the activities at the event.

The event is free to attend, but Johnson said that donations of canned goods to the Selma Food Bank are highly encouraged.

“We encourage everyone to bring at least one item for the Selma Food Bank,” she said. “That’s because we know that by giving you receive.”

Johnson said that MJ 93-90 founder and Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman will make an appearance at the event and be part of the dunk tank.

“He’s really excited about coming,” said Johnson.

MJ 93-90’s Family Fun Day and back to school bash will take place from 9 a.m. – noon this Saturday, July 27.
