Since the last reports that the Temple Mishkan Israel was raising money for renovations, nearly $10,000 have been raised for repairs since the GoFundMe account was created four weeks ago.

The support that this campaign has received shows how important the Jewish history in Selma is and how many people want to see it continue to being told.

Temple Mishkan Israel President Ronnie Leet remains optimistic about the future of the temple and we all should as well.

“I don’t want people to think that that’s all that needs to be done,” said Leet. “This is a $6-8 million project, just from my own thoughts and calculations.”

There is indeed more to be done, and there is more funding that is needed to achieve the goals of Leet and the other members of the temple.
