This year, Selma Diversicare location Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was a winner of one of these awards.

Davis expressed his gratitude for the award and commended the faculty and staff at Park Place.

“At Park Place, we understand perfect and we understand excellence,” said Davis. “We have a team who strives for perfection, daily, but sometimes fail. As the administrator, I am okay with that. I take pride in leading team members who are not afraid to fail. Our many failures in perfection have led us to excellence. We are honored to receive this award. We also know this is just the beginning for us.”

Purdie also expressed her feeling about winning the award, stating that the Award of Excellence is an assurance that the Park Place team is doing their job.

“I became a nurse because I wanted to serve others,” said Purdie. “Being the Director of Nursing allows me to be a servant leader to our patients, residents and team members. It is an honor to be part of great leadership that understands we are here for the common goal of taking care of our patients and residents. This award reassured our team members of the great jobs they are doing.”

Earlier in the ceremony, Davis presented Charlie Hise with a Visionary Award.

Hise was presented his award for establishing the Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center before it was acquired by Diversicare.

Hise’s wife, Joann, was also recognized. She is the former Director of Nursing Services at Park Place.
