Auburn University catcher Kendall Veach has made the All-SEC softball team.
The league announced its selections on Tuesday.
Veach has hit 20 homers this season, one from tying the school’s single-season mark.
The former Morgan Academy All-star also leads the Lady Tigers in RBI (47), total bases (112), slugging percentage (.778), walks (29) and on-base percentage (.420).
Veach spoke to The Selma Times-Journal last month and said she enjoys playing at Auburn and the SEC.
“Playing in the SEC is an unreal experience,” Veach said. “The conference demands your best each day and that’s what it takes to play. It is considered the best conference because it produces some of the best athletes that play this game. Being a part of the SEC and this Auburn program is such a blessing and all the glory goes to the One above that has made it possible for me.”
The senior hopes to lead Auburn to an SEC Championship. The Lady Tigers face Missouri in the first round on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at College Station, Texas.
