Two suspects were charged with murder of a man at a Dallas County club that occurred seven months ago.

According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Marvin Brand and Simon Garrett were charged for the murder of Christopher Powell on Oct. 27, 2018 at Marion Junction Bar and Grill. Jackson said Brand, 34, and Garrett, 37, were security guards who worked at the club.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Incident report on May 1 and May 2 showed that bail was set for Brand and Garrett at $500,000 each and they both made bond last week.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum said during the investigation in late October that Powell allegedly pulled out a gun and was attempting to shoot when he got shot.

The club caught on fire and burned to the ground on Oct. 28, 2018. Granthum said the club owner heard an explosion outside. The club owner, who Granthum did not identify, lived next to the club.
