It’s once again time for the annual Our Lady Queen of Peace Yard Sale.

For the fifth year in a row, the fundraiser will be held at the former Our Lady Queen of Peace School located at 2511 Summerfield Road on Saturday.

This year, bargain hunters can swing by the sale from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and browse seven rooms filled with a huge variety of items.

There’s a bargain to be found for everyone at this year’s sale.

The yard sale organizers have meticulously organized all of the items by category in each of the rooms so that shoppers can find exactly what they’re looking for.

The rooms of the former school building have been filled with records, books, electronics, toys, board games, glassware, holiday decorations and much more.

All the money collected from Saturday’s fundraiser will go directly to the Catholic Women’s Society, which Our Lady Queen of Peace uses to maintain the church.

This year, the proceeds will go toward paying for the construction that is currently going on St. Andrew’s Hall next to the historic church located in downtown Selma.

The construction, which began in February, will take roughly six more months to complete and cost about $400,000.

“If they’ve seen what’s going on [at St. Andrew’s Hall] they can see we could use the money,” said yard sale organizer Ann Jung. “We aren’t a wealthy church by any means.”
