Help needed to support the MDA

Beginning this weekend, you will see Selma Fire Department (SFD) members at Wal-Mart with a boot in hand as they collect money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Since 1950, MDA has spearheaded efforts to transform the lives of people with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases.

The organization funds groundbreaking research for promising treatments and providing families with the highest quality care.

This disease is something that can impact any of us at any time.

We commend the SFD for being part of the kick off for this campaign to help fight Muscular Dystrophy.

This Fill the Boot campaign is something that deserves our support as a community.

SFD will be collecting money for the MDA in front of Wal-Mart every weekend until August. In the past, they have managed to raise over nearly $8,000.

Let’s help them raise that amount again and hopefully go beyond that.
