Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are sponsoring the Law Enforcement Training Conference this week.
The event will be held today and Thursday at the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center, starting at 8:15 a.m. each day.
The training will be APOST certified for CEU and executive training purposes. Training will be provided on the following topics: Human Trafficking, Credit Card Skimmers and Federal Weapons Cases.
Officers from various agencies and agents across South and Central Alabama will attend.
Here’s the law enforcement organizations scheduled to attend: Selma Police Department, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Camden Police Department, Pine Hill Police Department, Uniontown Police Department, Marion Police Department, Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Hale County Sheriff’s Department, Greensboro Police Department, Wilcox County Sheriff’s Department, ALEA, FBI, DEA, ATF, Fourth Judicial Drug Task Force and District Attorney Investigators.
Jackson said he’s grateful for U.S. Attorney Richard Moore extending the relationship with local, state, federal prosecutors, agents, deputies and police officers.
“This training by the Feds is invaluable,” Jackson said. “With Moore being named the U.S. Attorney for the Southern Federal District, he has shown the most concern for Selma that any U.S. Attorney has and I appreciate that. We’re rounding up all of the gunslingers.”
