Healthy body- We are all part of the body of Selma

At Selma’s third annual Night of Hope event at Bloch Park, Dr. Christine Nelson told the audience that we all have more in common than what we have in separation.
We all have a different part to play in the success of Selma and Dallas County.
Nelson spoke of the community of Selma as a body, with each person playing a different part.
“It takes every part to have a healthy body,” she said. “If someone loses even a pinky toe then they have trouble standing upright.”
It is important for all of us to know our role in how we make Selma successful.
There is power in unity that most of us keep saying that we need to have, but some of our actions show the opposite of unity.
There is still separation that we have to work through, and only then will we be able to truly work towards Selma’s success.
“If you are an arm, be an arm; if you are eyes, be the eyes,” Nelson said.
Be whatever you have to be to contribute to the success of our community instead of being part of the problem and division that the community is working to fix.
We are all part of the body of Selma, and we must all be working properly in order to move forward.
