The Tally-Ho restaurant hosted a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration for a good cause on Saturday, March 17.

The Central Alabama Regional Child Advocacy Center was the beneficiary of the festivities Saturday night as diners purchased raffle tickets for a chance to win a number of donated prizes including a homemade quilt, a handcrafted wooden box and a brand-new Pelican cooler.

Diners celebrated at Tally-Ho with a special Irish menu with special dishes like a Guinness burger, Fish and Chips, Irish Nachos and green beer.

The Central Alabama Regional Child Advocacy Center also presented those in attendance with some quick facts about their organization.

The Child Advocacy Center helps prevent and spreads awareness of child abuse.

“Our biggest thing is spreading awareness,” said Child Advocacy Center Executive Director Lauri Cothran. “The more aware we can make people of this issue [child abuse] the less of a problem it will be.”

The money raised from the fundraiser at Tally-Ho on Saturday will help the Child Advocacy Center train interviewers, pay for interviewers and match grants given to the organization.

“The event went really well,” said Cothran, “We really want to thank Tally-Ho for allowing us to be the beneficiary of their yearly fundraiser, and especially thank everyone who came out to support us.”
