Retired Chief Master Sgt. Professor (Pop) Powell, native of Selma, died on February 25 2019 at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Illinois. He retired from Andrews A.F.B Clinton, Maryland. He later retired from The Treasury Department as a civilian employee. He is preceded in death by his wife, R.N. Ophelia Bogan Powell and daughter, Sonja Powell. He is survived by his children, Ronald, Kimberly, Angela and Eric Powell; brother, Clarence Powell; sister, Sarah Ann Powell, and Estella Powell Newton of Selma. Interment: Melbourne, Florida at a later date.
