Rep. Terri Sewell, D-AL, will continue her annual “Congress in Your Community” tour by hosting a town hall meeting in Selma on Monday, Nov. 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The town hall will be at the Selma Interpretive Center located on 2 Broad St.
Sewell hosts a “Congress in Your Community” town hall tour every year in each of the 14 counties she represents.
These meetings serve as a catalyst for dialogue with constituents and allowing Sewell to connect with the residents of the 7th Congressional District and address their concerns, according to a release from Sewell’s office.
Sewell is serving her fourth term representing Alabama’s 7th Congressional district. She sits on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and was recently appointed to the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.
Sewell is a Chief Deputy Whip and serves on the prestigious Steering and Policy Committee of the Democratic Caucus. She is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, and serves as Vice Chair of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus, and Vice Chair of Outreach for the New Democrat Coalition.
