As the students walked dressed in their pink clothing that symbolizes breast cancer awareness, there were chants of “beat cancer” and “find a cure.”

“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Erica Lumpkin, a physical education teacher with Knox. “We walk for the ones that have survived, and the ones that are going through it, and for those who have died. We are also walking for Jennifer Black, who was at Clark Elementary School that died this year from breast cancer, so we walked in her honor as well.”
