Teen murder suspect indicted

Markerion Benjamin was indicted for capital murder on Thursday at the Dallas County Courthouse.
Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins Pettaway Jr.’s made the decision.
A trial date hasn’t been set.
Benjamin, 16, was involved in a shooting in connection to the June 24 murder of Breana Williams, 36, and the attempted murder of her son, Dejour Edward, 17.
The shooting occurred on the 400 block of Young Street.
Three other suspects were involved in the Young Street homicide: Marquavious Benjamin, 19, Wesley Washington, 24, and Christopher Woods, 26. Marquavious Benjamin is Markerion Benjamin’s older brother.
Washington and Woods’ preliminary date is 9 a.m. Aug. 16 in the Dallas County Courthouse.
The elder Benjamin, Aisha Franklin, and Marquavious Billingsley were indicted on June 27 for felony murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and second-degree assault — in the May 30 murder of 20-year-old Kenbranesha Rayford.
