The Society of St. Edmund added a Superior General and General Council to its staff this week.

The group oversees the Edmundite Missions and has Social Justice, Education, Spiritual Renewal and Pastoral Ministry as its four core missions.

Father David Cray was elected as Superior General and will serve a four-year term.

Here’s the new General Council: SSE Superior General Very Reverend Dave Cray; SSE Vicar General Rev. Brian Cummings; SSE Second Councilor Rev. David Theroux; SSE Third Councilor Rev. Marcel Rainville; and SSE Fourth Councilor Rev. Stanley Deresienski.

Missions CEO Chad McEachern is familiar with Cray, a former Programs Director for the organization.

“Father Dave Cray served the Missions very well as program director and served in New Orleans at Bishop Perry Middle School,” McEachern said in a release. “He has a deep connection to the people of Selma and the Deep South.

“He has always been supportive of the ministries of the Edmundite Missions. I look forward to working alongside him to bring the compassion and hope of Christ to those entrusted to the care of the Edmundite Missions.”
