On Wednesday, The Selma Exchange Club held a changing of leaders for the upcoming year.

No matter who the leader of the exchange club is, we are certain their work to prevent child neglect and abuse will always be a top priority.

Since the club’s beginning in 1921, the Selma Exchange Club has been a front-running advocate for children in Selma and Dallas County.

We are confident in Robert Green, the new president of the club, and his continuing mission to uphold the motto “Unity of Service.”

We have heard from many people that there is strength in unity.

Green will face the challenges of the club head on and will continue to do the work that former club president, Sheryl Smedley did during her time as president.

Green is passionate about being a part of the organization and feels it is important to assist organizations that stand for their cause.

The club is a financial leader as well, donating their funds to many organizations meant to assist children and the community such as the Red Cross, the children’s hospital in Birmingham, the Salvation Army and child advocacy projects.

We look forward to seeing the work this civic group continues to do in their mission to assist children.
