Selma’s Purrrfect Pals and Sky Hill Animal Society are hosting an adoption event Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The organizations work in conjunction with each other to find homes for the local cats and dogs.

Jacque Johnson, one of Selma’s Purrrfect Pals volunteer, said the organizations will be adopting out the animals from different locations.

“If you’re interested in a dog you need to go out to Sky Hill on Saturday,” Johnson said. “Cats will be at the Selma Animal Shelter.”

Selma’s Purrrfect Pals has organized two rooms in the local animal shelter to allow the cats to roam free, and not be kept in cages. Even if adoption is not in their sights, the public can visit the cat rooms and play with the cats Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.

“We encourage them to visit the cats at the shelter,” Johnson said.

Selma Purrrfect Pals has both kittens and adult cats for adoption. All animals are spayed and neutered. Throughout the month of July, the adoption fee for adult cats six months or older is $20 and $25 for kittens that are six months or younger.

All adoptable dogs are already spayed and neutered. There is a $100 dog adoption fee.
