On Saturday, not one, but two volunteer groups will put Selma on their to-do list.

Rise Up Selma will concentrate on Ward 3 under the leadership of Selma City Councilwoman Miah Jackson and numerous pastors located in the Ward.

The other group includes Crosspoint Christian Church and other members of the Association of Related Church (ARC).

We are excited about the work these two groups will do in one day. Both groups have very noble causes, and we all should consider ourselves very lucky that we have both of the groups’ full attention for a full day.

A lot can be done in a day by groups with a similar goal.

We commend Jackson and the other leaders in Rise Up Selma in their goals to clean up Ward 3, and we are thankful that Serve Day 2018 from the ARC has decided to make Selma one of their places to serve on that day.
