Operation HOPE workshops to be launched by non-profit this month

Operation HOPE will have six workshops in Selma this month.

Over the last 25 years, the non-profit four-star charity partnered with Regions Bank has provided credit counseling and small business and entrepreneurial training programs free to the community.

Stephanie Tarver is a financial well-being coach for Operation HOPE in Selma. John Hope Bryant founded the program in 1992.

Here are the programs for Operation HOPE this month:

The Operation Hope Credit & Money Management workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Dallas County Family Resource Center in the Alagasco building.

Operation HOPE’s Entrepreneurial Training Program, Cohort, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 19 and July 26 in Regions Bank. Cohort requires a 12-week commitment and prerequisite.

Operation HOPE will have a home ownership workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 19 at the Dallas County Family Resource Center.

Operation Hope will have a Banking 101 Workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 24 at the Dallas County Family Resource Center.

Operation HOPE, a nationwide organization, also has statewide programs in Bessemer, Birmingham and Florence. They also have programs in Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, Washington, D.C., California, Nevada, Colorado, New England, Michigan and Ohio.
