The Selma Police Department (SPD) is investigating an early Monday morning bank burglary.

According to SPD Chief Spencer Collier, a burglary occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank on Broad Street around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.

“Selma PD responded and released a K-9 Unit through the point of entry,” said Collier. “However, the subjects had already fled.”

Collier said that SPD investigators returned to the bank later Monday morning to continue their investigation.

Collier said the investigators were still trying to establish what all was taken during the burglary.
