Selma man killed in motorcycle accident

A 37-year-old Selma man was killed in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning in Lowndes County.
According to Corporal Jess Thornton with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Roger Phillip Young Jr. was killed when the 2015 Suzuki motorcycle he was driving struck a 2003 Hyundai Sonata.
Thornton said Young was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the Hyundai was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The accident happened on U.S. Highway 80 near the 117-mile marker, which is approximately seven miles west of Hayneville.
No further information has been released, and the accident is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
